Rosetta (Rose) Raburn Smith, 87, passed away at home in Lanier County on Tuesday, August 31st 2021.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 Friday, September 3rd at Evergreen Cemetery Fitzgerald, GA with Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Viewing will be at the cemetery from 10:00-11:00.
Mrs. Smith was born in Tolar, TX to the late Jess L. Raburn and Avis Iles Raburn. She graduated from Tolar High School and then attended business college. She worked as a bank bookkeeper until 1964, then worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, and growing roses and African violets. She faithfully attended church, read her Bible, and served God.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years James Smith of Lanier County, daughter Buffy (John) Halter of Columbia County, grandsons Matthew, Joseph, Thomas, and Benjamin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Jessie Surrett and Mattie Bennett, and brother Donald Joe infant.
