Barbara E. (Fitzgerald) Manna, 92, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on August 31, 2021 at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
Barbara was born in Winchester on June 13,1929 a daughter of the late James Fitzgerald and the late Dorothy (Ladd) Fitzgerald. She was raised in Winchester where she graduated from Winchester High School, before moving to Tewksbury in 1954.
Barbara worked at the local Jan’s Store in Tewksbury and then Marshalls in Tewksbury as a manager for 32 years, before her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed growing her own vegetables but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Barbara was a proud mother of six children and devoted her life to raising them.
Barbara is survived by her children, Jeffrey Manna and his wife, Barbara (Conlon) (Gillette) Manna of Tewksbury, Roberta Manna of Dracut, Deborah Michaud and husband, Lawrence of No. Andover, Stephanie Manna of Wakefield, Michael Manna and his wife, Anne (Gregorio) Manna of Reading, Valerie (LeBoeuf) Cardella and her husband, Michael Cardella of St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sisters the late Bette Ward and the late Jean Fitzgerald; and her daughter in law, the late Nancy Manna. Additionally, she was predeceased by 3 of her grandchildren, the late Christopher Manna, the late Daniel Gillette and the late Joshua Michaud.
