Obituary

Marie Fanie Germilus, 71, of Dorchester, Massachusetts peacefully passed away at home after battling ongoing health complications on Monday August 30,2021. She was born on February 12, 1950 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to Veronique Louis and Fanord Germilus.

Widely known by her middle name “Fanie” this amazing woman is survived by her six children: Marie Josette Germilus, Merline Germilus, Jean Kenny Germilus, Marie Carline Germilus, Jean Johnny Cime and Sheby Cime. Fanie is also survived by nine beautiful grandchildren.

She was a God fearing, hard working tenacious mother. In her younger years in Haiti, she worked as a butcher and would also do work as a seamstress. She loved making her own clothes from shirts to pants to dresses. Fanie really enjoyed this as her favorite pastime. While in Boston, she worked as a CNA/Home Health Aid for over 20 years.

She will be remembered as a beloved member of her Haitian community here in Boston for over 35 years. Always ready to volunteer her services to those in need, giving back in various ways while also never forgetting to keep her connections in Haiti intact. At any given moment, you could find Fanie putting together goods/donations to send back home to less fortunate friends and family.

Viewing hours will be Friday September 10, 2021 from 6-8 PM and a Service will be Saturday September 11, 2021 at 9:30 AM in The Penticostal Church of the Last Hour located at 37 Everett Street, Hyde Park, Ma. Burial will be immediately following the Service in Oaklawn Cemetery located at 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, Ma.
