WORCESTER- Barbara A. “Bubbles” (Carlson) Mercer, 71, formerly of Granite St. passed away Friday, April 7 at St. Vincent Hospital.
She leaves three sons, Eric K. Mercer of Destin, FL, Curt R. Mercer of Doraville, GA and Ronald C. Mercer of Conyers, GA; her former husband, Herb H. Mercer of Covington, GA; her father, Conrad H. Carlson of Worcester; two brothers, Robert J. Carlson of Grafton and Gerald and his wife Phyllis Carlson of Webster; a sister, Donna M. Carlson of Worcester; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Conrad H. and the late Celia (Chesna) Carlson and graduated from Fanning Girls Trade School. Barbara worked for the former Handy Pad Supply Company for many years before retiring. Previously she worked at Brown Shoe Company. Bubbles was a very caring and generous individual who loved people and had a deep love for animals. She will be deeply missed by all her friends especially at Parsons Hill Nursing Home. Barbara is gone from sight but not from memory.
Funeral services and burial will be private. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. is directing arrangements. Donations in her name may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
