Margaret I. Playdon, 90, formerly of Derry, passed away August 28, 2021, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. Margaret was born January 15, 1931, in Lowell, MA and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Phoebe (Martel) Sevigny. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Margaret was employed as a school secretary, first in the Salem school district and later in the Hampstead school district. She loved the beach and working in the garden. She and her husband took up bicycling and enjoyed many adventures.
Members of the family include four children, Michael Playdon, Gary Playdon, Susan Theriault and Sharon Wheeler, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, her brother John Sevigny, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Harry K. Playdon in 2017 and her sister Patricia.
There are no services planned at this time. Margaret and Harry will be interred together at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH on June 24, 2022. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry is assisting the family.
