Obituary

Edward B. "Ed" Vroman 78, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Saturday August 28, 2021 at Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation in Whitinsville, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Judith M. (McGowan) Vroman, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Oceanside, New York, a son of the late Samuel and Ila (Sherman Vroman, he was a former resident of Sharon until moving to Franklin in 1989.

He was raised and educated in Hempstead, New York and worked as a foreman for Local 537 Boston for over 50 years.

A proud American, he served in the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Wasp and was honorably discharged in January 1964.

He treasured spending time with his family, playing golf, watching football and the Food Network.

Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus Dedham, MA Council 234 and St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa A. Vroman of Brockton and Todd E. Vroman and his wife Jill of Southborough, a sister Anita Carrico of Baltimore and his grandchildren, Benjamin C. and Nathan L. Vroman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday Sept. 2nd, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 4-7PM.

His funeral Mass will be held Friday Sept. 3rd, from the funeral home at 9AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org

Interment with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.
