FALL RIVER – Jean Covel, passed on August 27, 2021 at age 83. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Raymond L. Covel. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alvera (Lamontgue) Medeiros. Jean worked for the Fall River Public School system as well as the Diocese of Fall River as a teacher’s aide at Dominican Academy. She loved reading, decorating, shopping, gambling, gardening, travelling and most of all her family. Her laugh will be forever missed.
Along with her husband she is survived by children Debra Forand spouse Paul of Westport, Ronald Covel of Somerset, Stacey Branco of Somerset and daughter in law Suzette Covel of Somerset; Sister Aldina Mello; 7 grandchildren Paul, Danielle and Heather Forand, Brooke and Savana Covel; Mariah and Ashton Branco; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members, nieces & nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Henry Simard, Oscar Joubert, Rhea Richard and Jacqueline Forand.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, Sept. 2nd here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
