James Ronald "Ron" Marriott, 85, Anderson, died August 27, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
Ron was born March 27, 1936, in Lyons, New York, the son of Charles and Hilda (Right) Marriott. He graduated from Savannah High School in Savannah, New York. He was a first line supervisor at Delco Remy 25 years before retiring in 1992. He was Vice President of Sloan Homes four years. He enjoyed woodworking, building radio controlled airplanes and boats and working puzzles.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin Boyd (companion David Gross) of Anderson; two step-children, Ronald (Reva) Savage of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Shelia Walker of Anderson; brother, Stewart (Norma) Marriott of Pendleton and sister, LaVona (Bud) Urwin of Savannah, New York; brother-in-law, Billy Joe "BJ" Gunnels of Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Jo (Gunnels) Marriott; son, Terry Lee Marriott; stepdaughter, Linda Faye Smith; stepson, Rick Savage and two grandsons, Allen Boyd and Brian Smith.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
