Obituary

Ronald L. "Ron" Havens, 74, of Auburn passed away Thursday, August 26th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly J. (Fraser) Havens; his four sons, Douglas Havens and his wife, Laura of N. Attleborough, Daniel Havens and his wife, Joann of Leesburg, FL, Dennis Havens of Oxford and David Havens of Jefferson; his sister Vonda Rideout and her husband, Ralph of Leesburg, FL; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Daniel, Wyatt, Annabelle, Aiden, Addison and Garion Havens. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Havens.

Ron was born in Long Beach, CA the son of L. Glenn and Vivian (Ackerman) Havens; and had served as a Sergeant in the Army's 52nd Signal Battalion in Can Tho, South Vietnam. He was a Radiation Safety Officer for Mistras Group Services, a supplier of industrial testing services for the past 51 years. He was an avid Ten Pin Bowler, enjoyed watching all sports, golf and tackling the daily crossword puzzle. His greatest joy was time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.

His funeral is Tuesday, August 31st with a service at 10:30 am in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. His calling hours are Monday, August 30th from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
