Joan Perry, age 64, of Brockton, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Hubert A. and Helen F. (Sullivan) Perry.
A graduate of Brockton High School, she attended Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School taking night courses earning her LPN certification. She graduated from Massasoit Community College earning an associates degree to become a registered nurse. Joan worked as a registered nurse at the Brockton Veterans Administration Medical Center and Carney Hospital for many years before retiring.
Joan was a selfless person who had a very caring, sincere, and sensitive nature. She had a profound sense of humor who always put others first and enjoyed helping others. She could light up the room with her personality and tell a story like no other. Joan could also make an amazing pizza and had a gift of doing imitations of people. Some of her interests include gardening, crafts, listening to music, and reading, especially history.
She leaves her siblings, John D. Perry, and his significant other, Virginia A. Child, of Brockton, Karen A. Parmenter, and her husband, Robert, of Marshfield, and Susan F. Perry, of Brockton whom she lived with; a nephew, Brian M. Parmenter, of Marshfield; a niece Amy Hartigan, and her husband, Ryan, of Hanover; two grandnephews, Benjamin and Thomas Parmenter; and two grandnieces, Lilah and Lexi Hartigan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 9:15 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton. Interment will be privately held.
