New Bedford - Katherine E. Darmofal, 80, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at home. She was the wife of Stanley P. Darmofal Jr.
Born in New Bedford, she was daughter of the late Walter P. Zych and the late Marguerite L. (Richards) Santos. Before retiring, she was an elementary school teacher in Fairhaven and Acushnet. She loved spending time with her family, camping, the beach, and most recently, Zumba. She also enjoyed taking her dogs to visit residents at a local nursing home.
Survivors besides her husband include her daughter and her spouse, Lisa and Paul Bosinger; her sons and their spouses: Christopher and Sharon Darmofal, and Steven and Jane Darmofal; her six grandchildren: Rebecca Darmofal, Julianna Darmofal, Katarina Darmofal, Hannah Darmofal, Kaylee Bosinger and Dylan Bosinger; and her brother: William Zych.
Services will be at The Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford on Tuesday, August 31: visiting hours from 11AM to Noon followed by a short service at Noon.
