Joan K. (Shields) (Sheehan) Donaghue, 82 of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was the widow of the late James R. Donaghue, and Richard P. Sheehan.
She was born on May 5, 1939 and was a daughter of the late John and Doris Shields. She was raised in Lowell, where she graduated from St. Patrick’s Parochial School. She worked as a manager for the IRS for over 20 years.
Raising her family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making many memories.
Joan is survived by her five children, Ann Trudel and her husband, James of Pelham, NH, Patti Sheehan-Coville of W. Yarmouth, MA, Joan Boucher of Lowell, Richard Sheehan and his wife, Barbara of Lowell, and Kara Donaghue and her fiancé Sean Driscoll of Hudson, NH. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Linda Donaghue and Robert Donaghue; her siblings, Mary Ann Shields, Thomas Shields, Magdalene Sullivan, Doris McNamara, Eileen Gibson, and Peter Shields; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
She was also the mother of the late Michael P. Sheehan and sister of the late John Shields.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. RITA’S CHURCH, 158 MAMMOTH RD, LOWELL AT 12 NOON. BURIAL TO TAKE PLACE PRIVATELY.
