Obituary

Hugh Lee Malone Jr., who went by “Pat”, was born in Nashville Tennessee, on February 15, 1938, to the late Hugh Lee Malone and Mary Elizabeth Malone, and passed away in Ventura, CA on May 7, 2020. Pat resided many years in Tennessee and California. He enjoyed traveling for pleasure and business, and often referenced remarkable sites and adventures as a young man living abroad and throughout his military career. Pat had many recreational interests; a love of flying as a recreational pilot, as an auto-racing spectator, as a gun enthusiast frequenting the shooting range, and as a Master Gardner; “playing” in the yard. Pat held a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and retired from the State of Tennessee and the United States Air Force, as a Senior Master Sergeant with notable recognition.
Pat was is survived by his children, son, Hugh Lee Malone, III and his wife Kathleen, and grandchildren Ryan and Kristen Malone; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Ventimiglia and husband Vincent, and grandson Donovan L. Ventimiglia and wife Kavita, and great granddaughter Fable J. Ventimiglia, and grandson Dalton M. Ventimiglia; son, Michael Byron Malone and wife Belinda, and granddaughter Heather Malone, and grandson Michael Byron Malone Jr., and Kylee Keller, and great granddaughter Scout Kennedy Malone; his sister Judith Bates and husband Bob Bates, niece Cathy Bates and nephew Bobby Bates, and many great nieces and nephews; Family members; mother of his children Kay R. Malone-Burns; Lynn Knoblauch, Mark Knoblauch; Carol and David Pinkus of Maybank, Texas, and their children Tami Horn and Justin Pinkus; god daughter Theresa Collins, of Newport Beach; sister-in-law Linda Davis and husband Frank of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and nephews Michael, Patrick, and Steven Jones; and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia B. Malone of Cookeville Tennessee.
Pat had many dear friends: Joe and Gussy Miller; Nancy and Charlie Pardue; and Maryjane Pardue all of Cookeville, Tennessee whose kindness and care were treasured. We thank the many “angels” who help others and their families in their time of need; Silverado Memory Care Community, Calabasas; Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, Ventura; Lexington Assisted Living of Ventura; and Community Memorial Hospital, Ventura.
Pat lived a full life. He possessed great southern charm and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a fierce spirit, and was driven to do things “well and with purpose”--. A sentiment Pat often shared about living life, is to simply “Do the best you can, with what you have”. With deep loss and with great love, we celebrate his life.
