Obituary

It is with a heavy heart we announce our beloved father Rupert Barron, 97, of Ventura, California, passed away on August 23, 2021. Rupert was born in Santa Barbara, California to Diomicio and Tranquilina Barron, on March 27, 1924. Then made his home in Ventura, California, where he grew up in the historic Tortillas Flats. He attended Ventura High School.
Rupert enlisted in the United States Army, in 1942, was assigned to 333rd Infantry Regt. 84th Division, served in England, France, Holland, Germany, and Belgium during World War II. He sustained war injuries and was discharged from the military. Rupert was decorated with the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Good Conduct and the Purple Heart.
Rupert is survived by his daughters Anita Ramos and son-n-law Jesus Ramos, Modesta Carrillo, Virginia Barron, all of Ventura, California, Brother Louis Barron of Bakersfield, California. Also, survived by his 18 Grandchildren,46 Great-Grandchildren,27 Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews.
Rupert is preceded in death by his parents Diomicio and Tranquilina Barron, loving wife Senaida, Son Rupert Barron Jr., Daughter Mary Virginia Barron, Rachel Mendoza, Grandchildren Andrea Arciniega, Joe Barron, Brother’s Joe, Jess, Frank, Tony and Edward Barron, Sister’s Frances, Mary, Felipa, and Reyes Barron.
Rupert led a remarkable life. He was a caring and a funny father that shared his humor and making family and friends comfortable and always welcomed. Rupert enjoyed having breakfast with his family at Main Street Restaurant, Vagabond Restaurant and Eggs n things. He enjoyed the simple things in life family barbecue’s, family parties, camping, fishing on Ventura Pier, and Christmas with all his family and he enjoyed seeing his family making tamales with Anita being main head chief. Rupert was a member of Local Laborers Union 585 (50 years), Ventura VFW, American Legion and Tortilla Flats Originals.

Family and friends are invited to Visiting Hours from 4:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 East Main Street, Ventura. A Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 3, 2021 in the Mission Basilica San Buenaventura, 211 East Main Street, Ventura. Burial will follow the mass at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA. 93003. Reception will follow burial at Moose Lodge 1935 S. Oxnard Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93033.
