Mike Sennett Jenkins, 74, passed away Friday, April 7, 2006 in the Baptist Memorial Hospital N-MS in Oxford. The son of James Percy Jenkins and Monica Marguerite Williamson Jenkins, he was born in Belzoni,MS. Mike was retired from Borg-Warner Automotive in Water Valley, MS and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army, was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4100, Member of Wahabi Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S., also Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree Mason. In the Masonic Service he was: Past Master, Valley City Lodge #402, Free & Accepted Masons; Past High Priest, McConico Chapter #96; Past Master, J. J. Melton Council #50; Past Commander, St Cyr Commander #6 ; and Past Patron, Water Valley Chapter #5, Order of Eastern Star.
The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday evening, April 9, 2006, at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ronald Jenkins, Jr. and Rev. Raymond Aven officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Mike Sigler, Rob Sigler, Shane Walker, Dr. Lee Pullen, Randy Taylor and Henry Coats serving as pallbearers.
Mike leaves behind his wife Emmie Faye Jenkins of Water Valley, MS; sons James M. “Mickey” (Linda) Jenkins of Tupelo, MS and Richard S. “Ricky” (Deana) Jenkins of Water Valley, MS; four grandchildren, Brandy Halbert, Rebecca Jenkins, Adam Jenkins and Tori Beth Jenkins; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lee Silas Sigler and Lee Andrew Sigler both of Water Valley, MS, Robert N. Sigler and Sammy Sigler both of Gulfport, MS and Pete Sigler of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Betty Lane Ross of Water Valley, MS, Kandas Norton of Gulfport, MS, Virginia Whitten of Sumrall, MS, Mary Lee Fraize of Rena Lara, MS and Ella Mae Romantino of Denham Springs, LA.
