Obituary

Auburn – James H. Kane, 78, formerly of Rutland passed away in the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Mr. Kane is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pauline R. (Desrosiers) Kane; his four children, Kathleen Fitzgerald of Rutland; James Kane Jr. of Danielson, CT, Karen Kim of Charlton and Joseph Kane of Rutland; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 step children, Christopher Spring of Rochdale, Charlene Gott of Bowdoin, ME and Daniel Spring Sutton, MA.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Harold and Rita (Brunelle) Kane and is also predeceased by his first wife, Annmarie (Johnson) Kane who died in 1990.

Jim worked for many years as a shipper and receiver for the Abrasives and Tools Company and later went to work for Ron Bouchard’s Acura of Auburn as a driver of the courtesy shuttle. He was active for many years at the Rutland Senior Center and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim was a family man at heart, he loved traveling, playing Wii especially in tournaments at the Senior Center in Rutland and taking day trips with his wife, spending time with his beloved grandchildren and even volunteered for many years with the Auburn Little League while his children played.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 12 Noon in Notre Dame Cemetery 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverly Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452.
