Obituary

Bridget Patricia Mullaley a lifelong Charlestown resident died on Friday April 7, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. She was 95 years old.

Bessie was born in Charlestown on March 29, 1911 and grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Mary's Grammer School and Charlestown High School. She worked for many years as a secretary for Wainright Corporation, a brockerage company on State Street in Boston. Bessie ran bingo for St. Mary's Church in Charlestown and was a member of the Golden Age Center and The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Bessie was the beloved daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Sealey) Mullaley. She was the devoted sister of the late Helen Harper, Anna and Margaret M. Mullaley. She was the beloved aunt of the late Irene and Henry Harper. Bessie is the loving grand-aunt of Todd Harper of Charlestown, the late Terry Harper and also his wife Mary of Somerville. She is the great-grand-aunt of Todd David Harper and Michele Ann Harper.

Bessie's Funeral will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2006 at 9 am. at the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Bessie will be on Monday April 10, 2006 from 3 to 7 pm. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
