Ann V. “Ginny” McKay, 85, formerly of Smithfield, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her son's home in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the wife of Kenneth J. McKay. They were married for 49 years at the time of his death in 2007.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of Helen and Raymond Graham. She graduated from Pawtucket West High School and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Women and Infants Hospital for 21 years, then as an office nurse until her retirement in 2001.
She is survived by her children: Katherine Bywell and her husband, Larry of Rehoboth, MA, Paul McKay and Scott McKay both of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mark McKay and his wife, Gloria of Mapleville, RI, her siblings: Susan Angell, Glenn Graham and Janet Walker, and her 6 grandchildren: Jillian and Stacy Bywell, Daniel and Lauren McKay, Kristin McKay and Kelsey McKay, and her great grandson, Jameson Martin. She was the grandmother of the late Alannah K. McKay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 am at St Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Providence, 45 Gay Street, Providence, RI 02905.
