Margaret “Trudy” Gertrude (Carlson) Scanlon, 70 years old of Quincy, Massachusetts, died August 6, 2021 at Beth Israel Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born June 4, 1951 in Cambridge to William R. Carlson and Margaret (O’Connell) Carlson.
Army Veteran, a SP5 Sargent Specialist of the First Cavalry, in Fort Hood Texas, honorably discharged in 1978. A registered nurse for many years at Quincy Nursing Home.
As a disabled veteran she volunteered as an administrator of the O’Brien Towers Tenant Association in Quincy. For her service she was awarded a State Senate Citation for her “many years of outstanding and dedicated service” of her fellow residents.
Trudy is survived by her daughter Tracy Wagner and her husband Michael of Pembroke, her son Peter C. Nason and his wife Lin of Weymouth, her grandchildren Madeline Wagner, Griffin Wagner, Andrew Wagner, Haile Wagner, Owen Nason, Paige Nason, and Claire Nason. She leaves behind her sister Esther L. Burke, her nephew Brendan Burke, and her nieces Linnea Burke and Allison Moriarty. In the afterlife she joins her beloved brothers William R. Carlson, Jr., Charles W. Carlson, and John D. Carlson. She will be dearly missed by her faithful K-9 companion, Penny.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Wednesday September 8 from 5-7 PM with a service to follow at 7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
