Steven M. Camara, 55, of Westport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Fall River, son of Mary M. (Cabral) Camara of Westport and the late John P. Camara. He was a lifelong resident of Westport and a Communicant of St. George Church. Steven was a hard worker and visionary and owner of Camara Drywall and Plastering. He enjoyed boating, trips to the Azores and was very proud of his Azorean heritage. In his short life, he touched the lives of so many with his generous soul, gracious personality, compassion and empathy. His greatest loves in life were his children and family as he cherished the time they spent together.
Including his mother, survivors include 3 children: Brandon A. Camara of Westport, Victoria E. Camara of Westport and Austin D. Camara of Westport; 2 brothers: John P. Camara of FL and Michael Camara of Westport; 2 sisters: Sandra A. Simmons of Dartmouth and Gina M. Hermenegildo of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Ashley Camara.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
