FALL RIVER – Francisco Carlos, age 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 22, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Mariana (Viveiros-Arruda) Carlos. Born in Santa Barbara, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Joao and Mariana de Conceicão (Arruda) Carlos. Prior to retirement Francisco worked at Rhode Island Nurseries for 30 years. He was a long time parishioner of St. Michael’s Church. He loved to garden, make wine and most of all spending time with his family.
Francisco was the father of Frank (companion Stephanie Quartochi), George (wife Natalia), John (companion Ana Tavares), Robert Carlos (companion Allie Borges), Fatima Arruda (husband Fernando), Ilda Pedro (husband Antonio), Adelia Carlos (wife Grace) all of Fall River and the late Joseph Carlos; brother of Olivia Carvalho of Açores, Hilda Cabral of Canada, Lauriana Camara of Fall River and the late João, José, Antonio Carlos, Maria Vultão, Mariana Carvalho and Inez Barreira; 7 grandchilren and 4 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, Aug 27th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday, Aug 26th from 4-7 P.M.
