Wilma M. Lynch, 78, of Hill Avenue, Smithfield, died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the widow of John M. Lynch who died in 1997.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Cyril J. and Rita (Lyons) Carey. She had lived in Smithfield for the past 54 years having lived in Providence previously.
Wilma was a Reimbursement Specialist for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island for 28 years before her retirement in 2003.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved her grandanimals, especially her grandpig, Chris P. Bacon.
She is survived by her sons: Christopher Lynch and his wife, Kristen of Smithfield, Timothy Lynch and his wife, Leeann Schreier of Mansfield, MA, her grandchildren: Caitlyn and Joshua Lynch. She was excitedly awaiting her third grandchild, a grandson, to be born in November. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara Folgo of North Kingston and Ellen Loontjens of Narragansett. She was the sister of the late Marion Knowles, James Carey and Rita Chipman.
Her funeral will be held Friday, August 27, 2021at 8:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville at 9:30am. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation Thursday, 4-7pm.
