Karen L. (Christman) Shepard, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1957 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Frederick and Pauline (Dutcher) Christman. Karen worked at Big Y Supermarket for over 25 years. She loved the ocean and taking trips to Hampton Beach but she especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Fletcher Shepard of Chicopee, married for 39 years, they spent 47 wonderful years together; her two beloved daughters Sarah Colon and her husband Aaron of Concord, NH and Katelyn Shepard and her boyfriend Jason Rivas of Chicopee; one brother, Paul Christman and his wife Heidi of Chicopee; her sister, Kim Lavigne of Springfield; a brother-in-law Barry Shepard and his wife Diane of Springfield; sister-in-law Ann Juliano and her husband John of Agawam along with several nieces, nephews, her dog Buddy, cat Norman and her many close friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St, Springfield, MA 01105.
