Jan was born in Worcester on February 26, 1948, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Herrie) Grendol. She graduated from South High School and worked for many years as a school secretary, retiring from Mashpee High School.
Her family has always been the most important part of her life- from holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, and weekly get-togethers. She truly loved and enjoyed being Nana to her eight grandchildren - watching them grow, attending their events, and hosting special sleepovers. She and her husband moved back to the area from Cape Cod to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She would always end her family visits with a special hug and a “I love you” to everyone. The family is extremely grateful for the care, kindness, and support for the Critical Care Unit team at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus.
