Charles J. “Chuck” Muzzey, 89, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, August 20, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, August 23, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary on Monday.
Mr. Muzzey was born January 3, 1932, in Lake Worth, Florida, to the late Roy Herbert & Ruby Mae Richardson Muzzey. Following high school graduation, he began his career in the United States Navy. He served his country honorably before retiring from service. He worked as supply supervisor for Western Electric, later AT&T. He was also warehouse supervisor for Ocilla Cotton Gin. Mr. Muzzey was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanetah Brogdon “Mickey” Muzzey of Ocilla; a sister, Frances Westerhoff of Long Island, New York; sister-in-law, Charlotte & Hugh Roberts of Ocilla; nieces and nephews: Jay & Sarah Roberts, Gary & Lisa Golden, Jeana Huff, Jerry & Wendy Golden, Allen & Yvonne Lacroix, Crista & Ashley Clements, and Carlee & Bailey Alexander; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
