Betty Elizabeth (Waymire) Harris passed away early Saturday morning, August 21, 2021 at Randolph Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winchester. She was born on May 13,1930, the daughter of Melvin and Clara (Gaskill) Waymire. She lived in Madison County most of her life, residing in Rising Sun from 1993-2002.
Betty was an LPN and retired in 1985 from St. John's Hospital after 24 years of employment. She also had worked fro Americana Family Tree for several years. She attended Mounds Baptist Church and was a member of the 40&8 La Femme.
Survivors include her son, Michael Harris; daughter, Nancy Harris; sister, Karen Waymire; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Richard V. Harris in 1992; daughter, Georganne Boze in 1991; two sons, James W. Willis 2001 and Greg A. Harris in 2002; brother, Donald Waymire 2005.
Services will begin with the Nurses Honor Guard memorial service at 11:45 a.m. then the funeral at 12 Noon on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Jerry Hilligoss. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service on Friday.
