Luzia (Simao) Lima, 89, of Lowell MA, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2021 after years of persevering with Parkinson's disease and dementia. She and her late husband, Gabriel Lima were married for 50 years.
Luzia was born on the beloved island of Graciosa in the Acores, on March 26, 1932 and was the daughter of the previously deceased Carlos and Maria Simao. She loved her work as a seamstress until she and her family immigrated to the United States in 1966 from where she later retired from Wang Laboratories in Lowell.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Guadalupe Santos and Carlos Santos of Hudson NH, Maria Gabriela Costa and Jose Gabriel Costa of Dracut, MA, Linda Lima Julian and Timothy Julian of Windham, NH; four grandchildren, Denny Santos of Hudson NH, Derek Santos and wife, Keri Santos of Nashua NH, Amanda Costa of Boston MA, Katrina Diaz and husband, Alex Diaz of Dracut MA; four great grandchildren, Devon Santos, Aidan Santos, Lilliana Santos, and Gabriella Diaz.
Luzia was also the sister of the late Avelina Lima, Lourdes Silva and Manuel Silva (husband), Aristides de Sousa and survived by her sister-in-law, Alda de Sousa. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Aldora Ramos, Alice Ramos, Antonina Ramos, Maria and Alvarino Espinola, Maria Conceicao Ramos, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN ON FRIDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 9 A.M., FOLLOWED BY HER FUNERAL MASS AT 10 A.M. AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL. BURIAL WILL TAKE PLACE AT ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
