Obituary

Lloyd “Ken” Anderson, Sr, 91

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Lloyd “Ken” Anderson, Sr, age 91, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 20, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Laura J. (Jette) Anderson, to whom he was wed for sixty-eight years.

Born in Foxborough, MA on September 17, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Arthur E. and Jennie R. (Taber) Anderson.

Ken grew up in Foxborough, was a 1948 graduate of Foxborough High School and when younger served as a member of the Army National Guard.

Throughout the years, Mr. Anderson worked hard to provide for his large adoring family. Prior to retiring, he was faithfully employed at the Foxboro Co. for forty-eight years and retired with the position of a lead calibrator. He had also worked parttime for his son at Land-Tek in Rehoboth and for many years at the former Vickery Motors in Mansfield.

A resident of Mansfield for the past sixty-one years, Ken was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and previously served as a religious education teacher. His love for family was second to none and at the time of his death was anticipating the birth of his 25th great grandchild.

Ken’s hobbies included dancing, spending time in Hyannis, the beach and reading, especially books on the subject of history. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who loved him but what will always bring a smile to their face, was his “sweet tooth” for ice cream.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children: L. Kenneth Anderson, Jr. and his wife Lori of Rehoboth, Robert E. Anderson and his wife Denise of Foxboro, Thomas C. Anderson and his wife Annette of Mansfield, Steven P. Anderson and his wife Louisa of Attleboro, Mark D. Anderson and his wife Karen of Norton, Laura J. Bouchard and her husband Dave of Mansfield, James A. Anderson and his wife Pam of Norton, John M. Anderson and his wife Deb of Mansfield and the late Michael P. Anderson, who is survived by his wife Theresa Anderson of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Carolyn Schulz of Mansfield and the late Robert Anderson, Rebecca Schulz and Arthur “Andy” Anderson. He is also survived by his treasured 31 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 24th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Ken with a donation in his memory made to the Community Visiting Nurse Agency, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
