Worcester

Margaret M. (Shea) Knox of 4 Garland St. died Thursday (July25) in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 48 years, Walter D. Knox Sr., three sons, Walter D. Knox Jr. of Worcester, Paul D. Knox of Columbus, OH, and Kevin P. Knox of Spencer, a daughter, Joann M. Tuson of Worcester, a foster-child Patricia A. Riedl of Salem, a sister, Mary Murray of Worcester, five grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. A brother Donald Shea and a sister Kathleen Shea both of Worcester predeceased her. She was born in Worcester daughter of Patrick and Hannah (Doyle) Shea.She graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a registered nurse at Worcester City Hospital and a Waitress at the former White House restaurant for 25 years, previously she worked at Sears.

She was a member and eucharistic minister at Saint Andrew the Apostle Church and its Woman’s Guild, a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243, she was a volunteer at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, she enjoyed bingo and was an avid golfer at Hillcrest Country Club, and was a member of several area bowling leagues. She also volunteered at the Worcester Lodge of Elks, Saint Andrew the Apostle Church, and the OTC Bingo.

A Funeral will be held Monday (July 29) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 16 Vineyard St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours are Sunday (July28) from 5 to 8 p.m.
