JOHN B. O'LEARY, age 80, of East Weymouth, formerly of Hull, died on Friday, April 7th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Mr. O'Leary was born in Boston and was raised and educated in Somerville, graduating from Somerville High School. He then served with the United States Army during World War II. For many years, Mr. O'Leary owned and operated his own funiture store in Roxbury and more recently was associated with Sommerfield Funiture in Boston and Kincaid's in Quincy. He was a resident of Hull from 1955 until 1998 when he moved to East Weymouth.
Husband of the late M. Patricia (Kavanaugh) O'Leary, he was the father of Mary Lou Dowd of East Weymouth, Brian J. O'Leary of Tacoma, WA and Siobhan M. O'Leary of Hull. He is also survived by his brother, Paul J. O'Leary of Woburn and granddaughter, Brianna C. O'Leary of East Weymouth.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11th at 9 AM at St. Ann's Church, corner of Samoset Ave. and Lewis St., Hull.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Columbans Foreign Missions Society, P.O. Box 10, St. Columbans, NE 68056-0010.
The interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, East Weymouth.
