Holden: Winifred C. Entwistle, 80, a longtime resident of Worcester, passed away on August 18, 2021 in Holden Skilled Nursing Center after a long illness with family by her side.
She leaves behind her 3 daughters- Paula Courtemanche and her husband Steven of Worcester, Cheryl D'Errico and her husband Joel of Shrewsbury, Deborah Dilling and her husband Paul of North Brookfield; one son- Bryan Benway; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; brothers- Robert Alfreds and Stephen Alfreds and his wife Brenda; a sister- Sandra Kirkorian and her husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Philip, Herbert, Donald, Dennis, and Douglas Alfreds; and sisters Florence Tisdel, Virginia Liseno and Lillian Macaruso.
Winifred was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Richard and Florence (Johnson) Alfreds. She attended Worcester Public Schools and Commerce High School. She was employed by several retail companies as a sales clerk and a cashier at WPI in Worcester. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester.
All services are private. Burial will be held at All Faiths Cemetery at a later date. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
