Obituary

A free spirit who soared high where there is peace and rest in the hands of Jesus and Mary, Charbel P. Baroody, 20, beloved son of Phillip P. Baroody and Jane (Huneineh) Baroody, passed away in the wee hours of Saturday, August 14, 2021.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Purgatory Church.

Charbel received his welding certificate from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and was planning to become a plumber.

He enjoyed listening to music and playing video games.

Charbel is survived by his parents, Phillip and Jane; his uncle, George Baroody and his wife Sylvie and their daughter Christina of Lebanon; his uncle, Gabriel Baroody and his wife Amal and their children Bertha and Jonathan of Dartmouth; his beloved cat, Junior, to whom he used to refer to as "my son"; and many cousins in the US and Lebanon.

He was predeceased by his uncle, Sammy Baroody.

Charbel's family would like to give a special thanks to all who were involved in his life from daycare until now.

His Funeral will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by his Divine Liturgy at 10 AM at Our Lady of Purgatory Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 from 4-8 PM.
