Barry Walker passed away peacefully in his home at 11:20 pm on August 16, 2021. He was surrounded by friends and family throughout the day and into the night. He had been battling heath issues for the better part of the last 20 years. Even though he battled these issues, you rarely heard him complain. He was a father, son, brother, husband, uncle, and grandfather.
Barry is survived by two sons, Jason (Heidi) and Joe Walker; his beloved daughter Jessica Walker; his grandson Bryce Walker Leger; his ex-wife/friend Katherine Walker; his two sisters Nancy Gelinas (Bob), and Diane Walker; and his brother David Walker (Trisha). He leaves his nieces and nephews; Lisa, Becky, Erin, Tyler, Ryan, and Amber; as well as many grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Billy Walker and his parents William and Ruth Walker.
Barry enjoyed spending time with family and made friends everywhere he went. He loved Boston sports and the Red Sox had a special place in his heart. His favorite baseball player was Dustin Pedroia, because of the way he played the game. He really enjoyed playing pitch with his children. His favorite movie was definitely Rudy. He loved 1970’s rock music like Fleetwood Mac and Creedance Clear Water Revival.
Barry was born in Gardner and graduated from Gardner HS where he played Tight End on the Varsity football team. He attended and graduated from UMASS Lowell. He was a partial owner of the storied Music Forum. He later worked for RPS and Radio Shack. In 2017 he was crowned champion of the Fantasy Football league that his son Jason runs.
There will be a Celebration of Life in October 2021.
