Bernadette Cirillo, 77, of Windham, NH, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021. She was born in Carragh Belclare, County Galway, Ireland on November 5, 1943, a daughter of Michael and Delia Crowe. Bernadette grew up in Ireland and immigrated to the US at the age of 21. It was here that she met the love of her life, James Cirillo. They married in the summer of 1972 and recently celebrated 49 years together. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren. Bernadette loved to host her family and friends and was known for her famous “sock-it-to-me cake” and her authentic Italian meatballs and sauce. She was a professional tea drinker and single-handedly kept the Red Rose tea company in business. Most importantly to her though, she was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary every day and devoted her life to God.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Cirillo of Windham; daughter, Carmel Shea and husband Patrick of Londonderry, NH; two sons, James Cirillo Jr. and wife Holly, and Brendan Cirillo and wife Laurie all of Merrimack, NH; seven grandchildren Amanda, Jack, Rachael, Ryan, Allison, Leah, and Adam, three sisters, Carmel Farrell of Plymouth, MA, Eileen Donahue of Ireland, and Mary Crowe of Weymouth, MA; one brother, James Crowe of Ireland; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bernadette is predeceased by her siblings, Kathleen Reilly and Brendan Crowe.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 22nd from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Mask usage is at the discretion of attendees. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
