Linda L. Foster, 76, of Barnstable, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22nd, surrounded by loved ones. Linda was born July 28, 1944, daughter of Beatrice and Frances Walls, life long resident of Barnstable village.
Linda will be greatly missed by her family. Known as "Nan" by her 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchild, and many friends. Linda left a lasting impression on all who met her. She made people laugh!
After a long tenure at Intercity Alarms, Linda enjoyed her retirement spending most of her days with family and in her garden.
The door to Linda's home was always open. Her funny wit and larger-than-life personality kept new and old friends visiting through the years. Linda loved to entertain and brought family and friends together for cookouts, birthdays, holidays, and card games, spending many weekends enjoying Sandy Neck and Millway Beach, and rooting for the Red Sox. Linda's passion was gardening and caring for her house plants. Her kids were envious of her green thumb. Linda traveled to many beautiful places and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Her family is at peace knowing how loved Linda was and the amazing impact she had on so many. Our memories will be cherished.
Linda is survived by her 5 children; daughter Deb Toffey and husband Jack of Barnstable, daughter Tammy Friedman and husband Jeff of Connecticut, daughter Kim d'Hedouville and significant other Dave Plourde of Falmouth, son Christopher Foster and wife Kelly of Yarmouthport, daughter Dawn DePatsy and husband Jim of West Yarmouth, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, long time friend Ken Elliott of Yarmouthport, her brother Albert Walls of Barnstable, preceeded in death by brother Frances Walls of Maine.
Linda will be laid to rest alongside her parents and brother Franny at Cummaquid Cemetery, forever surrounded by love. Burial will be private for family members, and a celebration of life will be planned on a further date.
