Mavis Hendley Rowe, 58, of Sims, Illinois, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, August 13, 2021, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Friday, August 20, 2021, at Christian Fellowship in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Rex Johnson and Minister Michael Acree officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Rowe was born May 17, 1963, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Raymon Albert & Rose Marie Kent Hendley. She was a 1981 graduate of Irwin County High School. Ms. Rowe worked for the Bay Station, TG&Y, and Eckerds. She was a seamstress for Irwin Manufacturing and H.R. Kaminsky & Sons. She was the Patient Access Manager at Dorminy Medical Center and worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Wal-Mart. She was currently enrolled in a Medical Coding degree program with Grand Canyon University. Ms. Rowe enjoyed singing and dancing and she loved her animals, Bandit & Izzy. She was a member of CFI.
She is survived by her son, Michael Rowe of Fitzgerald; a brother, Kenneth Hendley & Emily of Hawkinsville; a sister, Tina Hendley of Ben Hill County; the father of her son; Tiny Rowe of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Cassie Clark, Tena Watson, Andrew Watson & Chad Ryan-Watson, Landon Hendley, Jamie Hendley and Amanda Hendley; great-niece and nephew: Asher and Zoe; an aunt, Martha Gibbs & Tommy of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Troy Rowe of Fitzgerald; and a sister-in-law, Sue Rowe Adkison & Wilbur, who is also Michael's God-father. She is also survived by many adopted family members and a host of friends, including her best friend, Celeste Bullington.
