Mary A. (Daversa) Butler age 98 of Brockton and Pocasset died peacefully August 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Richard D. Butler. Mary was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Crescenzo and Ines (Cappiello)
Daversa and remained a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of Brockton High School, Mary was a stay at home mother devoted to her home and family. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and trips to casinos. In her younger years, she played in the bowling league at the Commercial Club.
Mary will be remembered as kind, thoughtful and giving person who also spoke her mind. She enjoyed summers in Pocasset and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary was the mother of Richard D. Butler and his wife Phyllis of Middleboro and Cheryl A. Butler of Brockton with whom she made her home. She also leaves two grandchildren Lisa Pelaggi and her husband Michael and Staci Bailey and her husband James and five great grandchildren Bella and Keira Pelaggi and Landon, Kerstin and Mason Bailey. She was the sister of Teresa Allegro of Sandwich and the late Anthony Daversa, Thomas Daversa and Alice Kostka.
