CHICOPEE – James P. Haesaert, 79, a longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Mission Care in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Boston on April 18, 1942, a beloved son of the late Emile E. Haesaert and Margaret T. (McNamara) Haesaert LeBlanc. He was raised in Holyoke, attended Saint Jerome Grammar and High Schools and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Westfield State College. He was an accountant for Cambridge Credit, MassMutual and American Optical, in addition to several restaurants. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Fairview Council 4044, both in Chicopee. He leaves his loving brother and sister in law, Paul G. Haesaert and his wife, Carol, of Chicopee; his two dear step sisters, Barbara Bresiano and her husband, Peter, of Portland, NH and Linda Miller of East Hartford, CT; six cherished nieces, a nephew, several grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his dear step sister, Sandra Adie; and his dear nephew, Connecticut State Trooper Kevin Miller, who passed away in the line of duty in 2018. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visiting Hour on Wednesday morning, August 18, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
