Obituary

Alfred T. ‘Al’ Dixon, 69, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A son of the late Warren E. Dixon and the late Pauline E. Pickard, he was born October 24, 1951, in Lowell and was raised and educated in Lowell making his home in Highlands Section of the City for most of his lifetime. He also attended the Kurn Hattin Boys School in Vermont.

Mr. Dixon worked as a laborer for Goodwill Industries and also worked for Burger King until illness forced his retirement.

Al enjoyed yard sales and flea markets, and was always adding to his extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers.

One of fourteen children, he is survived by several brothers and sisters and also leaves behind a large circle of friends both local and up in Maine.

He was predeceased by several of his siblings.

The Funeral for Mr. Dixon was held privately from the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. At his request, his ashes were scattered in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Rockport.
