Kathleen (Johnson) Newell, age 74, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Newell. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Gustave A. and Josephine F. (Wiggin) Johnson.
Kathleen was a graduate of Brockton High School and over the years worked at John H. Harland Company, Freda’s Restaurant and Cumberland Farms.
A very happy person who had a positive outlook on life, Kathleen loved to brighten the day for her customers, family and friends. She was a mother figure to many, always willing to help those in need. In addition to her caring nature, she enjoyed entertaining and hosting 4th of July parties.
Kathleen was the proud and loving mother of Robert S. Newell, Jr., Jason Newell both of Brockton and the late Jennifer Newell. She was the sister of Rosemary Matta, Patricia Cullinan, Richard Johnson and Elfrieda and the late Judy Moynihan, Larry Sullivan, Bobby Sullivan and David Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
