Margaret Nolan Mullinix of Norwood formerly of Dedham, passed peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on August 10, 2021. Margaret was born November 10, 1931 to her parents Basil and Mary Nolan. She was the loving mother of Elin Buchanan and her husband William, Bonnie Mullinix and her husband David McCurry, Thomas Mullinix and his wife Lisa, Becky Dion and her partner Robert Burke, William Mullinix and his wife Mary, and Adam Mullinix and his partner Barbora Kolarova. She was also a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Oliva “Ninga” Ostrander. She was predeceased by her sister Gertrude Albertson and her brothers Joseph Nolan and Thomas Nolan.
During her outstanding life she was many things to many people. Above all she was a loving, caring, and a devoted mother to all her children and grandchildren. She worked many jobs to raise her children by herself, (sometimes 3 jobs at a time). She spent most of her career as an Executive Assistant in and around Norwood, Westwood, and the Burlington area. In her early days when she returned to Dedham, with her kids, she spent a long time as secretary to the Chief of Police in Dedham.
Even in her retirement she could not stop. She spent many years as the President of the Nassau Gardens Cooperative where she lived since 1978. She was always the strongest person in the room and somehow, without being forceful, was able to command the attention of everyone around her. For all of these reasons she always gained the respect of everyone she ever encountered.
To “Our Mom” The strongest, fairest, and most wonderful woman we have ever, or will ever meet, Rest in Peace and know that you will always live on in each and every one of us.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future for family and friends per her wishes.
