Ileane M. Charland, 89, of the Village of Waterman Lake, Smithfield, passed away on July 28th.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late George and Irene (Ferreira) Arruda. She had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Green Acres, FL.
She had been a co-owner and manager for the Country View Golf Course before retiring in1988.
She was a devote catholic and she loved sports. Ileane was an avid golfer and tennis player. In her early twenties she discovered her love of art. She had attended Rhode Island School of Design and took classes in painting. He hobbies included macrame, stained glass and late seventies artistic jewelry making.
Her love of her family made her the happiest.
She the devoted aunt to Paula Leszcyk, David Arruda, Kathy Herzog, Ronald Arruda, Robert Arruda, Wendy Miller, Seth Arruda and Jessica Vilonna. She also leaves 10 great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday August 20th at 9:30am in St. Philip church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Respectfully Omitted.
