Samantha D. Hayes passed away August 8, 2021 at the ripe age of 33, after a long, hard-fought battle with mental health and substance abuse. She was a fighter - she overcame many obstacles over the course of her life and left an impact on the world. She passed away at her current residence in Florida.
Those that knew her or even just crossed paths with her were blessed to experience her very contagious cackle, her rebellious but caring nature, her hard work ethic, and the desire to help people even if at times she needed help herself. As an old coworker perfectly stated, “she was so full of life and touched the hearts of everyone she met.”
Samantha grew up in both Dedham, Massachusetts and Franklin, Massachusetts. She graduated from Franklin High School in 2006. She spent many years living in the Charlotte, NC area before recently relocating to Florida. Samantha worked many jobs throughout the years but absolutely loved waitressing because she was such a people person. She had aspirations of returning to school to become a CNA, and eventually a nurse.
Samantha leaves behind her two amazing sons Chase Rutledge of North Carolina and Antonio Avelar-Hayes of Florida, her husband Mario Avelar Lemus of Florida, her parents Laurie Jones and Joseph Hayes of Massachusetts, and her siblings Steven Hayes, Kerryn Veale, Justin Venteroso and Farrell Moroney, all of Massachusetts. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved tremendously.
Calling hours will be held at the Ginley Funeral Home Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin on Monday , August 16 from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Samantha Hayes Children’s Fund c/o Dean Bank, PO Box 307, Franklin, MA 02038.
