James V. Hanley passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021. He was 94 years old.
James was a lifelong resident of Malden and was self employed in the food business for many years. He was a United States Marine Veteran during World War II and a Purple Heart Recipient. James was a past member and grand knight at the Knights of Columbus in Wilmington.
James was the former husband of the late Ann McLaughlin. He was the loving father of Tracey Hanley of ME, Steven Hanley and his wife Julia of AZ, Shalene Hanley of MA, and Kristian Hanley and his wife Jodi of NH. James was the brother of Frances Kilgannon and the late John Francis Hanley and Mary Barbara Hanley. He was the cherished grandfather of Liam, Aine, Caden, Brady, and Cody. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday August 17th at 8:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 9:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment will be in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
