Fredrick "Freddie" Gene Lester, 84, of Anderson, passed away at home on August 10, 2021.
He was born June 19, 1937, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of Delmar and Eva (Denny) Lester.
Gene was employed in skilled trades at Guide Lamp for 42 years, retiring in 1999. Gene was a member of the Middletown Masonic Lodge, several horse clubs and the Winnebago Club. He was a loving father, grandfather and an amazing great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son, David (Stacy) Lester of Anderson and a daughter of Anderson; three grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Herald, Adrian (Andrea) Lester, Allesia Lester; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Krystal and Landon Herald, Eialand and Madelynn Kay Lester; a sister of Anderson and a special pet dog, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years , Kay Ann Lester in 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will follow at Millers Cemetery in Middletown.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the funeral home with 7 p.m. Masonic Rites.
Memorial contributions may be given to Fall Creek Christian Church.
