SPENCER: Ellis M. Chaffee, 59, of Howe Village, died Thursday, August 5th in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Brenda K. (Hearnlaye) Chaffee, his daughter Crystal A. Chaffee of Arizona, his brothers Gary Graslie and Charles Chaffee both of Worcester, his sisters Susan Rybicki of Worcester and Kathleen Chaffee-Dehart of SC. and his father Wayne Graslie of Spencer. He also leaves behind his caring and supportive brother-in-laws and sister-in-law David and Donna Parent of Charlton, Robert Hearnlaye of Charlton, he is preceded by his sister-in-law Linda Chouinard of Charlton and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Shirley (Birchfield) Chaffee. He lived most of his life in Charlton where he was a member and usher at St. Joseph's Church. He was well known and loved throughout his communities. He was an avid lover of sports and loved helping all those around him.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Friday, August 13th at Saint Joseph’s Church 10 H Putnam Road, Charlton, MA. Friends are asked to go directly to the Church. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
