Zarema Zakharova, age 80 of Ventura CA, went Home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2021 at Community Memorial Hospital. Zarema was born in St. Petersburg, Russia to Eugenia Darcheyiva and Dzambolat Avsaragov on April 22, 1941. She lived and studied in the city of Viborg and graduated from High School in 1958. She received her medical doctorate at Pavlov First State Medical University of St. Petersburg Russia to become a Pulmonologist. She practiced medicine and became Chief of Staff at Bistronikolskoye Country Hospital in Pskov Region.
Zarema’s talents were many: Ballet, Swimming, Volleyball, Track and Field were just a few of her favorites where she earned many awards and recognitions. Singing was her other passion and while she was at the University, she was a soloist singer for the university jazz band and was admired by many for her strong voice and depth. She loved to dance and was always applauded for her graceful dancing style.
In 1995, Zarema’s dream of seeing the United States came true as she began her new life at the age of 55 in the promise land.
There she became a Christian and invited the Lord into her heart. Her love for the Lord grew stronger each and every day. She loved to read her Bible, starting and ending her day with prayer. Praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face.
She was a strong, loving, caring, wonderful woman who always took the time to say hello and spread joy. Her love knew no limits and she was respected and cherished by many including her patients, friends, family and neighbors.
Zarema Zakharova is survived by her son Oleg Zakharov and daughter Zarema Barnes as well as her grandchildren Alexandra Julianna Seymour and Aleksey Zakharov.
Funeral Services will be held at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 757 East Main Street, Ventura at 2pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ventura Missionary Church in her name.
