Mae Murray Metts, 88, of Middleburg, Florida, formerly of Tifton, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Doctor's Lake Health Care in Orange Park, Florida. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Leroy Spivey will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, April 7, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Ms. Metts was born November 26, 1917 in Atkinson County and was the daughter of Ira Murray and Cora Corbitt Murray, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Venton Metts, and two brothers. She was retired from the management team at Oxford and was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Ms. Metts is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Carlton and Laverne Metts of Middleburg, Florida and Travis and Dollie Metts of Winston; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren
