Betty L. Stinson, 96, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021.
She was born January 18, 1925, in Alexandria, IN to Chester and Cora Latchaw. She met Bill (Dr. William M.) Stinson of Anderson when she was 15 years old. They married in 1945 and were loving partners for 73 years until his death in 2018.
Betty was an active volunteer in Anderson for many years, serving on multiple hospital and local boards. Her deep commitment and devotion to family, friends, and the Anderson community throughout her life were a source of inspiration for all.
Betty is remembered for her outgoing, easy smile and quick wit. She was rarely at a loss for words; her repertoire of humorous phrases and terms remain dear to her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peg Tate and David Poulos of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; daughter-in-law Andrea Stinson of Anderson; her two beloved grandsons, Wesley Stinson (Emma) of St. Joe, Michigan, and Alex Stinson (Rachelle and daughter Sutton) of Fishers many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. William M. Stinson and son, Dr. D. Mark Stinson; and two siblings, John and Irvin.
In the interest of everyone’s health, a service honoring Betty’s life will not be held at this time. Betty’s family wishes to thank the staff of Primrose Retirement Community for their dedicated care of Betty the past three years.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be given to Animal Protection League of Anderson or the donor’s choice of charity.
