Obituary

Dawn Marie Carey, 56, of Whitman, Massachusetts died on August 7th after her brave battle with cancer.

Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts in 1964 and only daughter of Robert and Barbara Devine, she graduated Whitman-Hanson High School and then spent her time as a dedicated and loving wife and mother, creating art, and sharing all the love she had in her heart with everyone she cared about.

She contributed to many organizations like St. Jude and the ASPCA for many years, volunteered for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, donated goods to food pantries and animal shelters, and always lent a helping hand.

She loved to paint, design her home, create stained glass suncatchers, and do various woodworking. Whenever she had a vision for something, she created it beautifully.

She had the best smile and warmest heart and was an amazing person to have by your side. She will be missed everyday by so many.

She was the wife of Thomas Carey for 27 years and the sister of Mark Devine, Robert Devine, and David Devine. She leaves behind a son Daniel Sullivan, two daughters Abigail and Elizabeth, and her fluffy dog Marco.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Wednesday August 11 from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
